GIS Data Engineer (m/f/d)

To drive this forward, we are looking for a detail-oriented GIS Data Engineer (m/f/d) to join our specialized data engineering team. Your work in our data engineering team spans:

• You supply our logistics planning and optimization products with high-quality geographic and non-geographic data, with a focus on data from toll systems.
• You collect and analyze large datasets from a variety of sources and assess their relevance and quality for our products.
• You prepare and process data using modern Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and automated, cloud-based data processing pipelines.
• You safeguard data accuracy and timeliness by applying automated validation mechanisms.
• You carry out targeted manual quality assurance to catch issues that automated checks cannot cover.
• You collaborate closely with data engineers and software developers who operate and continuously enhance our data processing environment.

What you bring to the team:

• You hold a university degree in a technical field (e.g., Geoinformatics, Computer Science) or equivalent vocational training such as Geomatics Technician, combined with relevant practical experience.
• You have practical knowledge of QGIS and can work confidently with geospatial data.
• You bring strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
• You work with high attention to detail and a structured, quality-focused approach, as your data directly influences customer-facing products.
• You have a basic understanding of road graphs and routing-related map attributes; experience with Python is a plus.
• You are a team player with an open communication style and solid proficiency in written and spoken English.
